Supported Formats
You can upload any of the file types below. If you have a choice, use EPUB for most books and PDF for anything with a fixed layout. EPUB text reflows to fit your screen and gives you the most reading options; PDF keeps every page exactly as designed.

DRM-free files only
BookFusion can't open files protected by DRM, such as books locked to another store's app.
Notes on Specific Formats
- EPUB: Recommended for most books. Text reflows to fit any screen, and you control fonts, themes, and layout.
- PDF: Best for fixed-layout content such as textbooks, manuals, and illustrated books. Pages appear exactly as designed, and the text doesn't reflow.
- MOBI / AZW / AZW3 / AZW4: Common Kindle formats. These upload and open normally, but if you have the same book as EPUB, use that instead.
- CBZ / CBR / CBC: Comic archives. Each page is an image, so these open in the comic/image reader rather than the text reader.
- DOCX / ODT / RTF / TXT / HTML: These upload and open, but the formatting is plainer than a purpose-built eBook. For a long read, convert the file to EPUB first.
Choosing a Format for Sync
If you keep your library in Calibre and sync it to BookFusion, you can choose which format BookFusion uses when a book exists in several. See Setting a Preferred Format for Sync.
